Human-Centered, Tech-Empowered: WAFCA Leadership Summit 2026

View Draft Agenda

Technology is driving rapid changes in our human services ecosystem: shaping everything from day-to-day practice to the policies that guide our work. As these shifts unfold, leaders are called to make sense of new tools, adapt systems thoughtfully, and ensure that innovation truly supports the people and communities we serve.

Join us in Madison on March 5-6 for this year’s WAFCA Leadership Summit as we consider what lies on the horizon of human services at the intersection of policy and technology. Together, we will consider the potential and complexity of advancements such as AI, EHR modernization, mobile supports, referral networks, social media engagement, and security innovations.

  • We will hear from state agency partners on how technology is driving statewide priorities and system improvements.

  • We will learn from member agency leaders who are leveraging data, digital tools, and continuous quality improvement strategies to elevate outcomes.

  • We will examine generational differences in technological fluency and how they shape leadership and workforce development.

  • And we will gather in breakout sessions to share practical solutions, discuss state budget opportunities (technology related and beyond), and discuss what it means for our future to be both innovative and deeply human-centered.

Join your colleagues as we explore the technology of today and tomorrow for Wisconsin’s mental health and human services community.

The WAFCA Leadership Summit gathers member leaders from around the state in Madison to meet with state policy makers and state administration leaders.  This 2-day event features timely updates on legislation, a briefing on WAFCA policy and funding priorities, and plenty of time to network with colleagues and state and county partners.
